A Whole New World of Disney Magic Opens in Hong Kong

We check out the latest attraction that's bringing a splash of magic to Hong Kong.

Whether it’s flying on a magic carpet with Aladdin, riding in the magic pumpkin to meet Prince Charming at the ball, or hanging out with Woody and Buzz, we all have Disney fantasies we wish would come true. Well now they can, as Hong Kong’s first Disney-themed 4D photo studio, Magical World, opens its doors this month.

Conveniently located on the first floor of Hilton Tower in the centre of Tsim Sha Tsui East, the new attraction invites children and “big kids” to explore 10,000 square feet of pure Disney magic. Mixing paintings, statues, and props with sound effects, music, lighting effects, and even smells, the 4D experience features 12 major cartoon zones and 70 photography spots where guests can get up close and personal with their favourite characters and re-enact timeless scenes.

Visitors can nibble on corn with Chip n Dale, fly in a hot air balloon with Minnie and Mickey, and share a pot of honey with Winnie the Pooh in the Disney Classic Characters zone.

Meanwhile, the Frozen zone invites fans to race Anna and Elsa down the slopes and join Olaf in a giant snow globe.

Comic book lovers can throw themselves into action scenes with Marvel-ous heroes like Hulk and Iron Man, and put their “spidey senses” to the test as they scale a skyscraper.

Star Wars fans will no doubt jump at the chance to transform into a Stormtrooper and grab a lightsaber to battle it out with Darth Vader.

And of course, there’s that one special moment that every girl dreams of…

One feature that is definitely worth checking out is the Luminous Disney Zone, where painted scenes light up in the dark as golden lanterns, stars, and fireworks fill the sky.

And if selfies aren’t enough to capture your magic moments, you can always visit the Souvenir Photo zone where professional photographers will do it for you for an additional price. Be warned though, this doesn’t come cheap – $120 for one photo, $218 for two, and $298 for three.

Checking in at $168 for adults and $120 for kids and senior citizens (because let’s face it, you’re never too old for Disney), ticket prices are fairly reasonable for an hour or two of family fun and an endless roll of fantasy-filled photos.

We can already see the #magicalworldhk Instagram feed filling up faster than you can say “To infinity, and beyond!”
