10 Best Rooftop Bars in Hong Kong

Take wining and dining to new heights and head to one of these fabulous bars under the stars.

The sun is shining, the weather is sweet – perfect time to hit the roof! One of the best things about living in Hong Kong is being able to sip on a cocktail (or three) at one of the city’s many amazing rooftop bars. So why not take wining and dining to new heights and head to one of these fabulous hangouts? Cheers!

1. Wooloomooloo

Fancy a steak with your view? We can’t think of a better spot to tuck into some juicy beef than this dazzling 31st-floor bar in the heart of Wan Chai. With its jaw-dropping views, comfy lounge seating, and soft lighting, Wooloomooloo is an ideal spot to soak up the city vibes, with a refreshing glass of wine and a delicious cut.

Don’t be put off by its location though – despite being in bustling Wan Chai, this popular spot has a more relaxed atmosphere than other rooftop bars in the city – and a pretty sweet view of Happy Valley Racecourse too!

Scattered with illuminated furniture and cushioned couches fit for royalty, this popular venue takes glamour to a whole new level.

Perfect for schmoozing clients, impressing visitors, or celebrating a very special occasion, this stylish hot spot boasts some of the finest signature cocktails Hong Hong has to offer, served alongside top-notch fusion cuisine. Life doesn’t get much better than this!

3. CÉ LA VI

For a night of pure glamour, venture to the top of California Tower in bustling Lan Kwai Fong and mingle with the city’s most glamorous party-goers at CÉ LA VI‘s Sky Deck. This high-class hangout has attracted a storm of attention since opening its doors in 2015 and has recently undergone a major renovation to create more space and more greenery to keep the good vibes flowing.

Come sundown, the city’s glitterati flock to the terrace to lap up the stunning 360-degree view of Hong Kong and kick back to some funky beats. With top DJs spinning Ibiza-style house music every weeknight from 6pm, and Cuban Nights bringing Latin beats to the roof every Tuesday, this is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy two-for-one cocktails during the daily Sundowner Sessions from 3pm until 9pm.

4. Hunter & The Chase

Formerly known as Shore, Hunter & The Chase has recently undergone a huge makeover in L Place on Queen’s Road Central, bringing us a two-storey venue which boasts contemporary cocktails, American-inspired comfort food, and one of the city’s favourite al fresco dining spots. While Hunter offers a sophisticated restaurant on the fourth floor, The Chase on the level below provides a chic and playful 1,800 square-foot outdoor terrace on which to enjoy a breath of fresh air and some relaxing downtime in the city.

Encompassing an elegant long bar, a dedicated cheese counter, warm timber decking, and comfortable lounge seating, this is the ideal spot to enjoy some casual wining and dining with friends. Make sure to try the incredible “liquid fruit salad” Raspberry Cobbler, the Fuego Manzana with tequila, Manzana Verde, lime and red chilli, or the super refreshing La Dolce Vita (all priced at $98) with gin, Aperol, Chartreuse, root syrup, and watermelon

5. ToTT’s and Roof Terrace

There’s a reason that ToTT’s stands for “Talk of the Town” – the views of Victoria Harbour and Causeway Bay down below are simply stunning! Plush seats, live music, and a killer list of cocktails – or “ToTT’s-Tails” – make this a prime spot for after-work drinks and a great place to take visitors to the city.

The Earl Grey Mar-tea-ni ($98) and Pornstar Martini ($118) are particularly delicious, but if you’re on a budget, head up there after 5pm and enjoy happy hour prices.

6. Eyebar

With stunning panoramic views of Hong Kong Island and front-row seats to the Symphony of Lights Laser Show, Eyebar earns a well-deserved spot on our list of the best rooftop bars the city has to offer. Of course, the range of gorgeous cocktails available on the menu helps too – who wouldn’t love sipping on a Suzie Wrong on a huge 30th-floor terrace atop the iSquare Shopping Mall?

If you’re more of a beer or martini drinker, though, head there for Sunset Hour on weekdays and enjoy hefty discounts on your favourite tipples.

Rooftops don’t come much sleeker than this. The brainchild of fashion icon Giorgio Armani and Aqua Restaurant Group, Armani/Prive screams “exclusive”. Dress to impress and strut your stuff on the 5,000-square-foot terrace and you’ll feel like you just stepped onto the catwalk.

A combination of chic lounge sofas, warm wooden decking, and jaw-dropping views of the city’s electric skyline promise to make this one of the most stylish nights on the town. Try the Pink Poodle or signature Tiger’s Eye and float off to some blissfully mellow beats under the stars.

What could be sweeter than sipping on a Rosy Smile or Passionate Dragon as you relax to some electronic DJ beats and lap up the breathtaking views of North Point, Quarry Bay, and Tai Tam? Head there between 5.30pm and 7pm on weekdays and you can also enjoy $68 vodka cocktails and wine during the Sundowners happy hour.

Located in the heart of the city on Wellington Street, this cheeky Tiki terrace is the perfect spot to kick back to some tribal beats and escape the metropolis with a cocktail in hand.

Honi Honi boasts the most expansive list of rums imaginable and more than enough deliciously exotic Polynesian-themed cocktails to get you in the summer spirit. Be warned though, they’re devilishly moreish... how could anyone resist a Honi Honi Kiss? Larger parties can opt for the Freaking Pineapple punch which serves up to eight people, or the insanely huge Around The World which caters for 12.

Set against a backdrop of Victoria Harbour and Victoria Park, this vibrant hot spot invites guests to sip on tantalising cocktails and soak up the ambience as the in-house DJ spins the decks.

The drinks menu is just as playful as the decor, serving up delights such as the 50 Shades of Earl Grey and Jade’s Dragon Breath, made with liquid nitrogen. There’s also an impressive wine list from the old and new world for those with more conservative tastes.
